Here’s what’s coming to screens both big and small this month.
The Platform 2
Five years after the first movie landed on Netflix and made waves around the world, The Platform 2 arrives just in time for Halloween. Featuring fresh faces (Milena Smit, Hovik Keuchkerian, Natalia Tena and Óscar Jaenada), the movie sees a new resident move into the vertical prison with a brutal feeding system with even more brutal rules.
Tomb Raider:
The Legend of Lara Croft
The first of at least two seasons of a new animated series based on the classic video game franchise drops this month. Coming from Powerhouse Animation, the eight-part series follows the events after the most recent game. Hayley Atwell lends her voice as the titular Lara Croft.
Woman of the Hour
Anna Kendrick’s directorial debut sees her star in Netflix’s crime drama centred on Rodney Alcala, a serial killer in the middle of his spree who takes part in and wins a date on a popular dating show. And yes, this is based on a true story!
Time Cut
Madison Bailey stars as Lucy Field, a high-school student who accidentally travels back to the year 2003, where she attempts to stop a serial killer from murdering her sister.
Joker: Folie à Deux
Two years after the events of Joker, Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix), now a patient at Arkham State Hospital, falls in love with music therapist Lee (Lady Gaga). As the two experience musical madness through their linked insanity, Arthur’s followers start a movement to liberate him.
Venom: The Last Dance
In the final film of the Venom trilogy, Eddie (Tom Hardy) and Venom are on the run. Hunted by both of their worlds and with the net closing in, the duo are forced into a devastating decision that will bring the curtains down on Venom and Eddie’s last dance.
Canary Black
Canary Black is a breathtaking action thriller starring Kate Beckinsale as CIA agent Avery Graves, who finds her life turned upside down when terrorists kidnap her husband and force her to betray her country. Cut off from her team and abandoned by her superiors, Avery turns to her contacts in the criminal underworld to locate the information sought by the kidnappers.
Brothers
In Brothers, Josh Brolin plays a former criminal determined to redeem himself, but his plan for redemption is derailed when he is forced to reconnect with his twin brother, played by Peter Dinklage. The latter, whose mental health is wavering, is far from stable. Together, they embark on a cross-country journey to pull off one last big score, while dodging bullets, the law and an overbearing mother played by Glenn Close.
Ayla & the Mirrors
Ayla, a rich and spoiled girl, suffers a shock after losing her father and is left without memories. With no one to claim her, she arrives at the El Bosque shelter. There she meets Inés and The Mirrors, a dance group. She also discovers a surprising ability: hearing the feelings of others through musical visions.
Bluey Minisodes
The collection of one-to three-minute Bluey Minisodes are a series of funny and sweet moments featuring Bluey and Bingo. The stories lean into playful interactions and games that further explore the characters and world of Bluey.
